Partner Permalife Pty Ltd
Funding $25,000 through the Australian Governments Farm Ready industry grants
Description

This project enables Indigenous people of the Northern Gulf to understand and plan for the effects of climate change on Traditional Owner lands.

The specific objectives of the project are:

  • To make Traditional Owners of the NGISG aware of what climate change is, what this may mean to their Traditional lands and culture, and changes they may make to adapt to a changing climate;
  • To continue to identify and record the biodiversity of Traditional Owner lands so that conservation and management can be determined to ensure species survival in a changing climate;
  • To monitor changes of weather patterns across the NGISG as they impact on the biodiversity of Traditional Owner lands; and
  • To document Ecological Traditional Knowledge of the NGISG group.
  • To produce a Northern Gulf Indigenous Climate Change Adaptive Land Management Plan
